I chose Howl's Moving Castle by Studio GhibliSo far I've picked up on the fact that they seem to use very desaturated colors, and aside from the few night scenes everything seems to be relatively light usually more in the grey value range with fewer deep darks and bright lights. The mountainous environments around the castle almost have a watercolor feel to them for me.
Alex, do you mean saturated? Alot of those sample images have some pretty heavy saturation, compared to something like, say,How to Train Your Dragon. Unless youre thinking about a specific scene from inside the dark castle, all of this ref is pretty colorful.
ReplyDeleteOk yeah, not so much desaturated I guess and it's just like I said in the second sentence, that nothing's too deeply dark or bright and the colors while saturated aren't too like glaringly bright or dark for the most part and stuff is what I'm getting at. At least that's how it comes off to me
